How do you play Jerry in the spot light?

These are the rules of playing Jerry in the spot light.

The object was for 1 or more persons to hide in front gardens, dark alleys, anywhere dark and the other kids in the game to look for them with torches. When found you would scream out "Jerry in the spotlight" and that person would then join in looking for other kids in hiding.

I suspect that this originated during the war. As I was born in 1950 and played it when i was about 5-6, the war was still fresh in many peoples minds
